Applies to: Product lines such as shirts, jackets, suits
Overview
Style Templates are presets that pre-fill a product’s attribute choices (e.g., lapel style, vents, cuff type). They help staff and customers start from a curated setup and then adjust details as needed.
What you can do
- Create templates with a name, description, and image
- Pick default attribute selections for the template
- Set template visibility and toggle Active on/off
- Edit a template later without affecting placed orders
What you cannot do
- Create new attributes or options from here (request those from the Chaos team)
- Override Conditional Logic; hidden attributes/options remain hidden if rules apply
Steps — Create a template
- Go to Settings → Data Management → Object attributes → Style Templates and click Create Style Template.
- Enter a Name (e.g., “Elegant”, “Classic Business”). Add a short Description.
- Upload a thumbnail image (optional but recommended).
- Select the default attribute choices for this template.
- Set Visibility and toggle Active on.
- Click Save and verify by starting a new configuration from this template.
Tip: Keep templates focused on a clear use-case (e.g., “Hunting Classic”, “Elegant”). Fewer, sharper templates reduce confusion and speed up ordering.
Examples
Example A — Guayabera shirt: “Elegant”
- Collar Style: Mandarin
- Sleeve Vent: Yes
- Sleeve Vents Fabric: Match Body
- Embroidery Level: Formal
- Front Style: 3-Stud Front
Example B — Suit jacket: “Classic Business”
- Lapel Style: Notch
- Buttons (Front): 2-button
- Vent Style: Side Vents
- Pocket Style: Jetted with Flap
- Sleeve Cuffs: Functional = No (can be turned on)
Best practices
- Name templates in customer language (avoid internal codes)
- Add images that clearly distinguish the look
- Review templates whenever attributes or logic change
- Keep the set small; archive low-usage templates
Troubleshooting
- Template appears but options are missing: A conditional rule likely hides them. Adjust the logic or choose alternatives.
- Customers can’t see a template: Check Visibility and that it’s Active.
- Preset doesn’t load: Ensure all referenced attributes/options are still Active and not deleted.
Related how-tos
- Manage Attributes (Designs): Add labels, images, order, and activation for attributes/options.
- Conditional Logic: Show or hide attributes and specific options to keep templates context-aware.
